PLC and SCADA engineering services
We are a Belgian engineering company for automation and AI in industrial plants. One team for E&I design, PLC and SCADA, migrations, commissioning and AI on the plant floor.
SIM Solutions BV is an automation engineering company in Mechelen, Belgium, founded in 2017. We design E&I, program Siemens PLCs in TIA Portal, build SCADA in Ignition and WinCC, migrate legacy systems such as S7-300 and WinCC V7, commission on site, and implement AI in IT and OT. We work in English, Dutch and French, across Belgium, the Netherlands, France and wider Europe.
What we do
E&I design
Electrical and instrumentation design for new lines and upgrades: single lines, loop diagrams, cable lists, panel specifications and I/O lists.
PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal)
S7-1500 and S7-1200 programming to your standard, tested in S7-PLCSIM Advanced before it reaches the plant.
SCADA: Ignition and WinCC
SCADA and HMI projects in Inductive Automation Ignition and Siemens WinCC: tags, alarms, trends, screens and reports.
Legacy PLC and SCADA migration
S7-300 to S7-1500 and WinCC to Ignition migrations, AI-assisted, with a read-only scan first and a planned cutover.
Commissioning
Loop checks, FAT and SAT, start-up support and handover documentation.
Automation project management
Scope, planning, suppliers, panel builders and installation, from request for quotation to handover.
AI implementation in IT and OT
From use case to pilot to rollout: data access, security, governance and AI assistants for engineering, operations and maintenance.
How we work
- One engineering team from design to handover, so nothing gets lost between suppliers
- Your PLC and SCADA standards first; where there is none, we propose one and document it
- Testing in simulation (S7-PLCSIM Advanced, development gateways) before anything reaches the plant
- AI where it saves engineering time, with an engineer reviewing every change
Platforms
We specialise in Siemens and Ignition, for example SIMATIC S7-1500, S7-1200 and S7-300, TIA Portal, WinCC V7 and WinCC Unified, and Inductive Automation Ignition, with OPC UA, MQTT and SQL databases around them. Other systems: ask us. For AI we use enterprise models, for example from Anthropic and OpenAI, or local models where data must stay on site, connected to engineering tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Do you work outside Belgium?
Yes. We work across Belgium, the Netherlands, France and wider Europe, and have worked on projects in Central Asia and Southeast Asia.
Can you take over an existing PLC or SCADA project?
Yes. We start with a read-only review of the existing project: structure, standards, open issues and documentation. Then we agree what we change and how we test it.
Are you a Siemens or Inductive Automation partner?
We work with both platforms every day. We only list partner programmes once they are confirmed, so none are claimed here.
